Fair Balloting, Backed by Cryptography

When demand for a plot exceeds supply, allocation is decided by a secure cryptographic random-draw algorithm. Every eligible applicant — no matter when they applied — gets an equal, tamper-proof chance of being offered a plot.

Once a plot has been allocated to you, you must complete payment within 48 hours. If payment is not completed within that window, the allocation is automatically cancelled.

Keep your plants below 1.5 m in height (except for approved crops), and use organic methods only — chemical pesticides and herbicides are not allowed. When deciding what to grow, choose plants that work well together.

Plot allocations are granted for a 12-month term. Your lease is renewable annually, subject to your compliance with the Garden Rules, and renewal is completed online.

Non-compliance is handled through a three-strike warning system, which can lead to penalties such as warnings, probation, or revocation of your plot. Certain serious offences — such as using chemical pesticides or harassing fellow gardeners — result in immediate revocation without going through the warning system.
